Ashurst adding project managers across practices

October 22, 2015 Four years ago, Ashurst added a project management team to its banking and finance groups. Now the firm is recruiting six project managers for its London and Sydney offices to serve all of its teams. Some teams that would see project management implemented are the corporate, litigation, energy and real estate teams.

Ashurst has a head of legal project management, Rachael Moore, who is based in Sydney. The new team of project managers will report to her as well as the firm's Glasgow managing partner Mike Polson.

Although project management is not exactly a new phenomenon, there does seem to be a recent trend among firms to implement the efficiency method. In the last 18 months, Herbert Smith Freehills and Hogan Lovells have been among those firms to begin integrating project managers. Additionally, Pinsent Masons intends to roll out the methods across its practices in the next 18 months. Magic circle firms Clifford Chance, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Linklaters are all believed to have project managers in London.
