US immigration firm opening second UK office
A specialty immigration firm based in the United States is opening its second UK office with hopes of reducing costs and being more accessible to clients. The firm, called Fragomen, will take up 12,000 sqft of office space in Saville House, in the center of Sheffield.comments powered by Disqus
The firm expects to create several jobs in the process, with an eye to expand to 50 employees through the coming year. The firm launched in London in 2011, when it hired CMS Cameron McKenna's 15-lawyer immigration team. Part of that team was practice head Caron Pope who now holds the role of the firm's UK managing partner.
Rents in Sheffield are more attractive than in the South East and London, a likely factor in the firm's decision to position itself there. The firm even envisions expanding its services into other practices, which may be more possible with the new office.
