Longtime Baker & McKenzie veteran departs for Linklaters

November 9, 2015 After 21 years with Baker & McKenzie, commercial litigation partner Tom Cassels is departing the firm to join Linklaters.

Cassels joined Baker & McKenzie in 1994 as an associate. He subsequently made partner at the firm in 2001. His notable clients include Shell, McLaren Mercedes and the mobile phone operator Three.

Linklaters does not typically recruit at the partner level in London. Prior to a hiring last July, the firm’s last major litigation hire was in 2009.

Linklaters named banking chief Gideon Moore as its next global managing partner earlier this week. He succeeds Simon Davies, who ends his term early and will join Lloyds Bank.
