Slaughter and May elect new senior partner

January 11, 2016 Slaughter and May has named the successor to senior partner Chris Saul, electing M&A head Steve Cooke to serve the next five year term. Saul's term will end in April and he will retire after his term finishes.

Cooke has led the M&A practice for 15 years at the firm. Many people at the firm had anticipated his election.

Saul joined Slaughters in 1977 and became a partner at the firm in 1986. He first took on the role of head of corporate in 2004 before ascending to the role of senior partner in 2008.

Earlier in 2015, the firm replaced outgoing practice partner Paul Olney by naming David Wittmann to the role.
