More firms follow suit with London salary raises
Cravath Swaine & Moore last week raised salaries for its London lawyers, other firms are rushing to follow suit.
Latham & Watkins is the latest, matching the rate of $180,000 for first year associates, or £124,000. It will raise associate pay to these levels in the following markets: US, London, the Middle East, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Additionally, US and UK qualified associates in Tokyo will be eligible for the pay raise.
Other firms to match the new market rates set by Cravath include Clifford Chance and Kirkland & Ellis.
