Freshfields loses partner to HSF in Düsseldorf

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has lost corporate partner Christoph Nawroth, the latest in a run of partner exits from Freshfields’ German practice after the firm merged its Cologne and Düsseldorf offices last November. Nawroth will move to Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF), where he will join the firm’s newly opened Düsseldorf office. The Düsseldorf operation also recently picked up Sönke Becker from Baker & McKenzie, as well as a nine-lawyer arbitration team from boutique firm Acker Görling & Schmalz. Nawroth has spent his entire career at Freshfields, where he most recently served as co-head of the firm’s power and utilities group and infrastructure funds practice.
