Dentons launches via local merger in Central America

Dentons is preparing to launch in three Central America locations following a planned merger with Muñoz Global, a new firm established by Arias & Muñoz founders José Antonio Muñoz and Pedro Muñoz. The new combined firm, which is subject to a vote by Dentons partners, would operate out of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama. Dentons continues to expand its presence in Latin America after recently opening offices in Mexico and Colombia through local mergers. Dentons global CEO Elliott Portnoy reports an increase in work in the region as regional clients seek the services of a global firm. If Dentons partners approve the merger, the firm will be the second global firm with offices in Central America, in addition to Littler Mendelson.
