Shoosmiths launches in Belfast via local merger

Shoosmiths has launched its first location in Northern Ireland, following a merger with McManus Kearney, a local Belfast-based firm founded in 1987. The two firms have worked together on matters for mutual clients in recent years. Partners Mary Frances Kearney and Jason Byrne lead McManus Kearney, which focuses on debt and insolvency. McManus Kearney has been rebranded under the Shoosmiths brand as of 1 December, with all of the firm’s 14 staff members remaining at the Belfast location. According to Shoosmiths chief executive Claire Rowe, the merger is a strategic move for Shoosmiths, driven by client demand in the region.
