Slaughters increases associate pay and flexible work options

Slaughter and May has announced a 10% pay bump for associates, along with new options for sabbaticals and working from home. The firm will maintain its system of associate remuneration that is not tied to billable hours, in contrast to many other US firms. According to senior partner Steve Cooke, an overwhelming majority of associates agree with the idea of excluding billable hours from pay consideration. The 9-10% increase follows last year’s smaller increases, which ranged from two to five per cent. Associates bonuses will stay at the current range of 9 to 16 per cent.
