Eversheds anticipates partner approval on US merger

Eversheds has concluded its partner vote regarding a potential merger with US firm Sutherland Asbill & Brennan as of 2pm on 16 December. The firm expects approval, which would require a vote in favour of the merger by more than half of Sutherland partners and 2/3 of Eversheds partners. If the merger goes through, the combined firm would operate under the name Eversheds Sutherland. A merger would create a firm with turnover of £600m, based on Sutherland’s 2015 turnover of £196.9m and Eversheds’ 2015 turnover of £405m.
