DLA shuts Canberra location
DLA Piper has closed its Canberra office amid partner and lawyer departures and a global strategy to close less profitable offices. DLA’s former Canberra managing partner Anthony Willis left the firm in February to join Maddocks, an independent firm. He was joined by Caroline Atkins, who was a partner at DLA. The closure leaves DLA Piper with four remaining Australian locations, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. The firm’s Australian co-managing partners, Jim Holding and Melinda Upton, said DLA will continue to serve its government clients from its other offices in the country.
