Clifford Chance to consolidate operations in Southeast Asia
Clifford Chance has announced plans to close its Bangkok location and end a local association in Jakarta. The firm is consolidating its operations in the region in order to focus on expanding its Singapore hub.
The firm’s Jakarta association with Linda Widyati and Partners will end later in the year, while the Bangkok office is slated for closure within 12 to 15 months.
According to Clifford Chance regional manager Geraint Hughes, the firm is grateful for its Bangkok team and plans to support its lawyers and staff during the transition period. The firm has not confirmed if any members of the Bangkok office will transfer to Singapore.
