Ashurst renews Guantao alliance in China

Ashurst is extending its strategic alliance with Guantao Law Firm for an additional six years. The firms have engaged in an alliance since 2008, and renewed the alliance two years ago. The alliance is primarily focused on legal matters related to insolvency and restructuring, energy and infrastructure, intellectual property, financial derivatives, and corporate and M&A. Beijing-based Guantao employs 110 partners among a total of 424 lawyers, placing it among the largest 20 local firms in mainland China. The firm merged with Shanghai-based Zhongmao Law Firm last year.
