Slaughter and May freezes associate pay following annual salary review

Slaughter and May has completed its annual salary review, opting not to increase associate salaries. The firm last increased salaries at the beginning of the year after a comprehensive review of its employee remuneration and recognition system. A spokesperson said the firm will maintain its current system that does not depend on billable hours targets. The last round of increases saw salaries rise 8 to 10 per cent. Newly-qualified lawyers receive a salary of £78,000, while associates with one year of post-qualified experience receive £87,000. Trainee pay has remained steady at £42,500 since 2016.
