Vinson & Elkins hires Clifford Chance finance partner John Dawson

US firm Vinson & Elkins (V&E) has hired John Dawson, who joins from a position as finance partner at the London office of Clifford Chance. V&E is expanding its footprint in London, where Dawson will bring the firm’s total UK partner headcount to 15. Dawson has worked at Clifford Chance since joining as a trainee in 1999. He became a partner in 2010, and his client roster includes companies such as Vivacom, Electra and Bridgepoint. He specializes in restructurings, acquisition financings, loan-to-own acquisitions, unitranche, and loan portfolios.
