Mayer Brown hires two from Standard Chartered in Singapore

Mayer Brown has brought on Angelia Chia and Ben Sandstad from Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore. The two lawyers both served as global heads of legal at the bank, and they will both join Mayer Brown as partners in the firm’s Singapore office. The hires will help boost Mayer Brown’s finance and structured finance practice, which will be co-headed by Chia and Sandstad in the region. Mayer Brown Singapore and Bangkok managing partner Kevin Owen said the new partners will help the firm expand its offerings to clients in Singapore and abroad.
