Eversheds Sutherland expands in Germany with new Düsseldorf office
Eversheds Sutherland is expanding its presence in Germany with a new Düsseldorf location. The firm has acquired local firm Grooterhorst & Partners, which began operating as a part of Eversheds Sutherland as of 1 August. Partners Johannes Grooterhorst, Marc Christian Schwencke and Ralf-Thomas Wittmann stayed on from legacy Grooterhorst, and will be joined in the office by 11 lawyers. According to Eversheds Sutherland co-chief executive Lee Ranson, the move is part of the firm’s global expansion efforts. In 2015, the firm merged with Heisse Kursawe, a German firm that previously partnered with Eversheds Sutherland.
