Allen & Overy retains 85 per cent of qualifying trainees

Allen & Overy has announced its retention results for autumn 2017, revealing a retention rate of 85 per cent. Out of 47 final seat trainees, 41 received offers, and 40 accepted offers with the firm. According to training partner James Partridge, the results of this retention round illustrate the firm’s commitment to training and developing its lawyers. A&O’s announcement of trainee retention follows that of Slaughter and May, which recently reported that the firm retained 91 per cent of qualifying trainees during its autumn 2017 round.
