Uber brings on O’Melveny & Myers to review Asia operations

Uber Technologies Inc has hired O’Melveny & Myers to lead a review of the company’s Asia business, amid an investigation by U.S. officials into allegations of bribery. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is currently investigating whether the company’s managers violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. As a part of the U.S. investigation, Uber has informed U.S. authorities of transactions in Indonesia in which staff members made payments to police officers. O’Melveny & Myers previously worked with Uber during an investigation into the acquisition of medical records of a woman who was raped by one of the company’s drivers in 2014.
