Mainland China sees 17% increase in partner numbers at international firms

Among major international firms with offices in mainland China, there has been an increase in partner numbers in 2016. International firms have generally scaled back their presence in the country in recent years, while Chinese firms have continued to expand. Nonetheless, the number of partners has grown among the 20 largest international firms with offices in mainland China. In 2016, there were 166 partners at top international firms’ Chinese offices, an increase of 17 per cent over the previous year’s figure of 142.
