Bird & Bird forges alliance with AllBright Law
Bird & Bird and AllBright Law Offices (China’s fourth largest local firm, as reported by ALB in its Top 50 Largest Law Firms ranking) have entered into an alliance. The agreement gives AllBright both a foothold in the European market and support from the British firm in internationally expanding the interests of AllBright’s domestic client base.
Wu Mingde, managing partner of AllBright, said in a statement, “We need real capability and strong local law support outside of China to help our Chinese clients’ projects, investments, transactions and disputes in the UK and the rest of the world. Our agreement with Bird & Bird provides us with the perfect platform to achieve this."
Brad & Bird has been expanding into the Asia Pacific region for several years. In 2014, the firm landed cooperation agreements with three other domestic firms in the region. In Indonesia the firm has allied with business law firm Nurjadin Sumono Mulyadi & Partners and IP boutique K&K Advocates. In South Korea an agreement was struck with Hwang Mok Park as well.
In his statement on this new alliance, Bird & Bird CEO David Kerr said, "There is a strong synergy between our vision – to be the number one law firm in the world for organisations being changed by technology and the digital world – and the ambitions of the many high-growth Chinese companies looking to expand internationally."
