Yoon & Yang adds strength to white collar defense

November 7, 2017 Korean firm Yoon & Yang has hired Kwon Oh-sung and Yoon Hee-sik in Seoul. The two senior prosecutors will operate as partners in the white collar criminal defense team at the firm.

Yoon, the former deputy chief prosecutor at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office, is an expert in special investigations. He has dealt extensively with white collar, finance, and tax investigations, and specializes in financial market crimes. In 2015 he oversaw anti-corruption investigations as an investigation planning officer in the anti-corruption department at the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office.

Kwon is the former chief prosecutor at the Uijeongbu District Prosecutor’s Office, at the Goyang branch. He served as the lead prosecutor in the Gyeonggi Bank scandal, in addition many other cases of tax corruption against public officials. Taking his two decades of prosecution experience into account, Yoon & Yang plans to use his expertise to advise on a number of topics including capital market investigations, tax-related crimes, and more.

Growth is evident in the firm’s white collar criminal defense practice group. The group’s numbers now exceed 40, now with two more former prosecutors joining the ranks.
