Mayer Brown brings on former Ashurst Tokyo managing partner for Japan launch

Mayer Brown has hired Rupert Burrows, who previously served as managing partner of Ashurst’s Tokyo office. Upon joining Mayer Brown, Burrows will head up a new Tokyo office, which will be the 8th in Asia for the firm. Other Asian offices include Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Bangkok. Ashurst has operated in Tokyo since 1990, and will have four remaining partners in the office once Burrows leaves the firm.
