New workplace app finds success with panic button

February 14, 2018 German law firm Pusch Wahlig has released a workload management app specially designed for its employees. The app is meant to streamline productivity and even features a panic button for employees feeling overworked.

Pusch Wahlig leader Tobias Pusch, formerly of Baker McKenzie and Allen & Overy, created the app in conjunction with Berlin-based developer Push Creative Ventures. Its main purpose is to auto-rank lawyers’ expected workloads by availability.

Pusch has not made the app mandatory at his firm, but he says it has a 98% take-up. Any fee-earner, associate, or partner has the ability to ask for help through the app as client instructions surpass a lawyer’s availability. As work allocation is always a topic of discussion at law firms, technology such as Pusch’s app is taking on an ever-increasing role in improving productivity.
