Hogan Lovells strikes flexi-lawyer deal with Elevate
Hogan Lovells has agreed to a partnership with NewLaw pioneer Elevate, experimenting for the first time with flexible lawyering.
In the deal, announced on 15 February, Elevate will provide the transatlantic juggernaut with access to 1,500 pre-vetted professionals. Hogan Lovells will pay the Los Angeles-based company for the cover, and then will be able to choose from the available lawyers for specific projects.
Stephen Allen, Hogan Lovells’ head of legal service delivery, said to Legal Business that clients’ increasing demands “in particularly busy periods” prompted the change. Although only the firm’s UK operations will initially be included in the deal, the firm is open to expanding its involvement down the road.
