Macfarlanes finance partner exits to Reed Smith
Reed Smith has hired investment fund finance head Bronwen Jones from Macfarlanes.
Jones has been with Macfarlanes since 2004, when she made the move from Kirkland & Ellis, where she had spent four years working on the funds team. Prior to Kirkland, she served as an assistant solicitor at Ashurst.
Jones will join Reed Smith’s City financial industry group. The funds finance team in London is headed by Leon Stephenson, previously of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, and Nick Stainthorpe, who came from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Though Macfarlanes does not often lose partners, the last few years did see the competition head Marc Israel’s departure to White & Case and financial services head David Berman’s exit to Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. Less than a year later, Berman moved yet again, joining Latham & Watkins.
