Weil Gotshal PEP skyrockets globally and locally
Weil Gotshal & Manges has globally raised its profits per equity partner by 18%, with its London turnover shooting up 33%.
Across the whole firm, Weil’s revenues rose to $1.39bn or 10%, while the 18% increase in PEP brought it to $3.64m. There was a 6% increase in revenue per lawyer to $1.24m, despite the growing lawyer and equity partner headcounts.
The 33% increase at the City office brought it to $165.4m (£128m). Recent valuable hires at the London arm include nabbing corporate partner James MacArthur from Herbert Smith Freehills and finance partner Paul Hibbert from Baker McKenzie. The latest notable hire was of real estate investment partner Anthea Bamford, who came to the firm from Berwin Leighton Paisner (now Bryan Cave Berwin Leighton) in November 2017.
