Dentons boosts Paris real estate practice with three-lawyer hire
Dentons has hired a team of three from King & Spalding to strengthen its Paris branch.
The three-lawyer team is led by King & Spalding’s French head of real estate and private equity Pascal Schmitz. Schmitz joined the firm five years ago after spending 15 years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
With the addition of Schmitz and his associates Peter Schafer and Alexandre d’Avout d’Auerstaedt, Dentons’ real estate practice in Paris now has 20 lawyers.
This year has seen Paris act as a hub of lateral hiring, with Simmons & Simmons hiring dispute resolution partner Guillaume-Denis Faure from Winston & Strawn, DLA Piper launching a Paris funds offering with former MJ Hudson corporate partner Benjamin Aller, and Reed Smith poaching a four-lawyer team from White & Case.
