Macfarlanes hires Eversheds corporate crime partner
Macfarlanes is launching a corporate crime and investigations practice with the hire of Neill Blundell, who currently leads the corporate crime practice at Eversheds Sutherland.
Blundell’s focus will be on compliance advice, corporate criminal investigations, and especially regulatory issues. Senior partner Charles Martin commented that Blundell’s hire is the result of an increased desire at the firm to develop its services regarding white-collar crime, the importance of which has been heightened by the rise in “criminal offenses across a broad spectrum of regulation.”
Blundell had been with Eversheds Sutherland since 2008 and worked on several high-profile cases. Taking over for Blundell as department head for the firm is corporate crime lawyer Zia Ullah.
