CPS director to join Linklaters when term concludes

April 4, 2018 The UK’s director of public prosecutions Alison Saunders has been recruited by Linklaters to join its business crime team.

In November 2013 Saunders took over from Keir Starmer and became the first internal candidate to head the Crown Prosecution Service. Her term ends in October 2018, which is when she is expected to join Linklaters.

Linklaters disputes head Michael Bennett stated that Saunders’ “credentials speak for themselves.” Those credentials begin when Saunders joined the CPS in the year of its inception, 1986. Her career at CPS saw her gradually climbing the ladder, leaving the organization for just two years beginning in 2003, when she served as deputy legal advisor to the Attorney General.
