Clifford Chance appoints new Tokyo co-managing heads
Clifford Chance has appointed new co-managing partners Reiko Sakimura and Leng-Fong Lai to lead its Tokyo office.
Effective 1 May, former office managing partner Eiichi Kanda stepped down to focus on real estate and infrastructure, making way for capital markets partner Sakimura and structured finance partner Lai to lead the branch.
This news comes a month after partner Peter Coney was announced to be taking over as head of Tokyo’s litigation and disputes practice. In other leadership news this month, Clifford Chance also announced the appointment of both its first chief risk officer Bahare Harwood and its new Continental European managing partner Charles Adam, who replaces Yves Werhli.
