Ropes & Gray announces next managing partner for 2020
Ropes & Gray has elected its next managing partner, David Djaha, who will begin his first term in 2020.
Djaha joined Ropes & Gray from Clifford Chance in 2009. He currently serves on the firm’s policy committee, essentially its governing body, and is also the global head of real estate.
Djaha will take over for current managing partner David Chapin, who is coming up on 65, the mandatory retirement age. Mirroring the change in the managing partner position, five months ago the firm announced that corporate partner Julie Jones would be replacing current chairman R. Bradford Malt, who is also turning 65 soon. Jones and Djaha will both assume their new roles in 2020.
