Shearman draws from three firms for Houston opening
Shearman & Sterling has brought in six partners to launch a new office in Houston, positioning itself to grow its oil and gas practice.
The Houston branch will be led by former Baker Botts oil and gas and projects chairman Hugh Tucker. Tucker will be joined from Baker Botts by energy projects and transactions partner Coleson Bruce.
From Thompson & Knight come tax partner Todd Lowther and private equity partner Sarah McLean, the latter of whom will serve as deputy head of the new office.
Rounding out the team of six establishing the launch are Jones Day hire Omar Samji, an energy and M&A partner, as well as current Baker Botts project development and finance partner Jeremy Kennedy.
