Goodwin Procter rebuilds HK branch with private equity hire
Goodwin Procter has recruited Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton associate Bosco Yiu as a private equity partner in Hong Kong.
Yiu’s main focus is on privatization, M&A, and equity capital markets transactions, though he has represented clients on joint ventures and other Hong Kong corporate regulation matters.
Yiu’s hire is part of Goodwin’s efforts to rebuild its Hong Kong office, which suffered a number of heavy losses in 2016. In addition to the loss of disputes specialist Jay Chiu, who joined K&L Gates, three corporate partners departed from the office: Christopher Yu left for local firm Howse Williams Bowers, Andrew Yang joined Addleshaw Goddard, and the third departed corporate partner was Nian Qing.
