Kirkland makes waves in IP with key hire from A&O
Kirkland & Ellis has unexpectedly poached Allen & Overy’s (A&O) global head of IP Nicola Dagg.
Dagg has been with A&O for 12 years. Her specialties are patent litigation and disputes concerning breach of confidence. She has extensive experience in such cases dealing with advanced technologies.
It’s not hard to see the US firm’s appeal. Riding the surging benefits of a pair of key hires, Kirkland surpassed Latham & Watkins as the world’s top-billing law firm in March. In December 2017 the US firm recruited private equity rainmaker David Higgins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, a hire quickly followed by that of M&A star Eric Schiele from Cravath Swaine & Moore in January.
