White & Case pushes City strategy with Addleshaws litigator hire
White & Case has hired veteran litigator Chris Brennan from Addleshaw Goddard, in its fifth London lateral hire and second London litigator hire in 2018.
At Addleshaws, Brennan was the head of Financial Conduct Authority investigations and enforcement. He joined the firm in 2012 from Lloyds Banking Group, where he served as head of regulatory.
Prior to Brennan’s hire, White & Case also hired respected litigator Hannah Field-Lowes, who joined from Weil Gotshal & Manges earlier this year. The US firm EMEA disputes head Charles Balmain said in no uncertain terms that Brennan’s hire is a signal of the firm’s strategy to compete with magic circle firms specifically.
