DLA Piper makes key hire in wake of major losses
DLA Piper has recruited infrastructure stalwart Martin Nelson-Jones from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, a rare corporate hire for the firm.
Nelson-Jones joined Freshfields in 1991, making partner ten years later in 2001 and going on to co-head the firm’s global infrastructure and transport practice. His expertise is in M&A pertaining to energy and infrastructure.
The hire comes at a crucial time for the firm, which has suffered a number of losses in the past few months. Among those losses are private equity star Anu Balasubramanian, who left to head Paul Hastings’ London private equity practice, as well as real estate trio Tom Calnan, Laurence Rogers, and Neville Wright, who departed to join McDermott Will & Emery.
