Akin Gump joins salary bump set in motion by Cravath
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has raised its salaries globally, following the recent trend set by Cravath Swaine & Moore’s pay scale hike.
Akin Gump’s starting pay for associates will now be $190,000, with a rising trajectory to $340,000. The change will take place on 1 July, with bonuses up to $25,000 also being awarded.
The US firm joins a long line of others that have recently upped their pay scales, including catalyst Cravath and first follower Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, as well as Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, Kirkland & Ellis, and Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson.
