Ashurst gains approval for Luxembourg launch before Brexit
Ashurst has received license approval from Luxembourg’s Bar association to open an office in the country.
The new continental European branch will be led by corporate partner Isabelle Lentz, who currently sits as the head of the UK firm’s Luxembourg desk, which was opened in 2011 and holds five members.
Ashurst managing partner Paul Jenkins called opportunities in Luxembourg “significant” and “an exciting prospect.” The firm is aiming to hire 15 to 20 legal and business services staff within the branch’s first year. The move is seen as a strategic play ahead of Brexit, which will open up new opportunities due to the impending business transfer.
