A&O and Linklaters matching sweeping US salary bump
Allen & Overy and Linklaters have raised their starting salaries in US offices.
Both firms are matching the new precedent set several weeks ago by Cravath Swaine & Moore of a $190,000 for newly qualified lawyers, with a gradient scale leading to $350,000 in the ninth year.
They will also be awarding $5,000 bonuses to first year lawyers with gradual increase piquing at $25,000 in the sixth year. Other firms with comparable bonus figures are Cravath, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Kirkland & Ellis, Clifford Chance, and Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.
