Shearman nabs capital markets star from Freshfields
Shearman & Sterling has rehired corporate rainmaker Ward McKimm from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, just three years after he joined the firm.
McKimm worked at Shearman for 14 years, having made partner in 2005 and taking the role of corporate co-head in 2010. He then moved on to Kirkland & Ellis, but left the US firm for Freshfields in 2015.
Shearman has been in need of a high-yield capital markets partner since earlier this year when European capital markets head Apostolos Gkoutzinis defected to Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy.
