K&L Gates earns approval for merger in Singapore
K&L Gates has been approved by Singapore’s Legal Services Regulatory Authority to merge with local law firm Straits Law Practice.
Expected to come to fruition by the start of 2019, the merger comes three years after similar mergers by Morgan Lewis & Bockius and Stamford Law Corporation (forming Morgan Lewis Stamford), as well as Dentons and Rodyk & Davidson (forming Dentons Rodyk).
The acquisition adds 16 lawyers, 10 of whom are partners, to K&L Gates’ 1,800-strong global team. It is led by partner Raja Bose.
