Slaughters bumps up trainee pay for second time this year
Slaughter and May has raised the salary for trainees for second time in 2018.
On the 1st of January, 2018, the firm raised its first-year trainee pay from £43,000 to £44,000 and second-year trainee pay from £48,000 to £49,000. The firm has now announced that as of October 1 the salaries will rise yet again, with first-years earning £45,000 and second-years earning £51,000.
As Slaughter and May follows suit behind such firms as Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, fellow magic circle firm Linklaters is left behind for now as the outlier still not reaching £45,000 for first-years and £50,000 for second-years.
