Kira AI platform receives $50m in private equity funding

Kira Systems, an artificial intelligence (AI) platform, has received $50m of funding from Insight Venture Partners, a private equity firm based in New York. The start-up was initially funded by Noah Waisberg and Alexander Hudek, Kira’s co-founder and CTO, respectively. Prior to co-founding Kira, Waisberg was an associate at Weil Gotshal & Manges. Insight managing director Peter Sobiloff will begin serving on the board of Kira Systems, whose growth represents a trend in the legal industry as AI firms expand.
