A&O releases pay gap stats
Allen & Overy (A&O) has responded to pressure to disclose its figures on the firm’s pay gap between male and female partners. Overall, men at A&O are paid 61.2% more than women in the firm’s UK offices, while the gap based on median pay is 39%. Women make up 20% of the firm’s partnership, and are paid an average of 15.9% less than male partners. According to A&O global HR director Sacha Hardman, the firm had already planned to reveal the data, and did not do so in response to increasing pressure.
