Law Society encourages more partner pay gap transparency

The Law Society has issued recommendations intended to increase reporting of gender pay gaps among law firm partners. The recommendations are geared toward creating consistency in law firm’s reporting of gender pay gaps. The Law Society issued the guidance document on 6 November. The recommendations outlined in the document include topics such as distinctions between equity and non-equity partners, distinctions between partners and non-partner employees, and bonus schemes. Additionally, The Law Society plans to issue further guidance on how firms can address existing pay gaps.
