Dechert chairman: layoff rumours are 'bull'

Dechert chairman Barton J. Winokur has denied rumours on the legal blog Above the Law about "stealth layoffs" at Dechert. Several posters to the site have claimed associate layoffs ranging from 13 to 80 and even more across several months since March. The firm's chairman said no layoffs took place. According to Winokur the number of associates who have left the firm for any reason in 2008 was even lower than in 2007.
