UK law firms not cutting back on training contracts
Trainee numbers are likely to hold up at UK law firms. Many law firms were bitten in the last economic downturn when they found themselves short of lawyers as the climate improved, writes The Times. In the year to July 2008, 5,921 passed the legal practice course (LPC), while 6,303 training contracts were registered, with no evidence of fewer being offered this year. So students currently stand a good chance of getting a contract.
