US $ 586 million settlement submitted to court in IPO securities action

Plaintiffs in a major class action against investment firms in connection with the underwriting of numerous tech-stock IPOs a decade ago submitted a proposed settlement to a US court in the amount of US $ 586 million. Plaintiffs' counsel indicated that the settlement was the best "real-world" alternative in view of the significant decline in the financial services industry in recent months.
