Study: Sharp disparities in law firm associate salaries

According to a National Association for Law Placement (NALP) survey of starting associate salaries for 2008 law graduates the pay gap for new attorneys was wider than ever. According to the study, the prevailing starting salary at large law firms in 2008 was $160,000, while half of all starting lawyer salaries are less than $72,000 and in fact 42% of them are between only $40,000 and $65,000.
